The Char Dham Yatra will start in Uttarakhand, usually begins in May. Making the Chardham Yatra easy and interruption-free could prove to be a tremendous problem for the government and administration because the PWD has identified around 65 enormous landslide zones on the Char Dham Yatra route, which can pose a barrier in the trek. On the other hand, the department is managing all of these landslide zones. However, it is challenging to finish treating all landslide zones before the expedition starts.
Many Hundred Millions of Rupees Have Been Spent
However, the majority of the landline zones are receiving treatment. A budget of over one hundred crore rupees has been allocated for the treatment of all of these risky locations, but it won’t be finished before the beginning of the travel season.
The PWD department claims to have made all the necessary & required preparations for the trip, which will pass through sensitive locations, but the right personnel and equipment will be on board.
Which are the 5 danger zones?
There are also other sizable zones in these landslide zones. These 5 are the most danger area nearby.

There are now 13 locations between Gauchar & Badrinath where hill cutting work is still being done. After the Supreme Court’s ban was removed, the work was resumed.
In addition to this, while 15 different regions were being widened, danger zones appeared as a result of landslides. On the slopes, landslides are a common hazard, but they tend to get worse in the wet season.
According to the National Highway Authority of India, or NHAI, the rock-cutting process cannot be used to finish the highway work during the current travel season. A course of action is suggested for the long-term management of the recently formed landslide zone. Safe travel on the highway at peak travel times is quite difficult in such circumstances. There is still work to be done to enlarge some sections of the Badrinath highway route by cutting the rock.
In order to guarantee passenger safety throughout the busy travel season, enough equipment and personnel will be used in the danger zone. The process of cutting rock will also be sped up at night.
The greatest care will be taken to prevent any inconveniences for the passengers.
The administration’s top goal is ensuring traffic safety on the Badrinath route. For this, the administrative team, RTO, and NH have conducted a joint inspection. Before the peak travel season, the administration will take action to strengthen security and safety in the danger zone.
On the Badrinath highway, there are various spots where there are danger zones. It has undergone examination and marking. The police will deploy police personnel for safe travel if the relevant department fails to take security precautions in this area, ensuring that the pilgrims are not inconvenienced.
